Phillies announce additional Spring Training non-roster invitee

The Phillies have signed catcher Cam Gallagher to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training as a non-roster invitee.

Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.

A native of Lancaster, Pa., Gallagher, 31, has appeared in 227 major league games between the Kansas City Royals (2017-22) and Cleveland Guardians (2023) over his career. Last season, he made the Guardians Opening Day roster after attending their major league spring training camp as a non-roster invitee and appeared in 56 games (53 starts) at catcher.

For his big-league career, Gallagher has hit .211 (119-563) with 33 doubles, seven home runs and 46 runs batted in. He was a second-round selection (65th overall) of the Royals in the 2011 MLB Draft out of Manheim Township High School in Lancaster.
