Padres Holiday Giving Tour presented by Gallagher set to return in 2023

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced the return of their annual Holiday Tour (presented by Gallagher) as part of their holiday tradition. Throughout the following weeks, the Padres will support various organizations and have an impact on underserved communities throughout the San Diego and Baja region. Padres players, coaches, alumni, executives, staff and broadcasters, along with Pad Squad, the Swingin’ Friar, the Paw Squad and the Padres Volunteer Team will join forces with several community organizations as they help spread holiday cheer.

The Padres Holiday Giving Tour begins next week with the organization’s annual Turkey distribution in partnership with Northgate Market, followed by front office volunteers participating in a care package party for Veteran’s Village San Diego and serving dinner to homeless youth at the Youth Assistance Coalition. The tour will continue into December beginning with a trip south of the border to partner with the City of Tijuana and IMDET (Municipal Institute of Sports in Tijuana) to host a youth baseball clinic for kids 12 and under. New this year, the Padres will host a holiday shopping event where 100 kids from a local elementary school will be paired with a Padres player, former player, broadcaster or front office volunteer to help them provide holiday gifts for them and their families.

Other events and organizations that will be touched during the holiday tour include the annual Shop With A Cop event, participating in the Armed Services YMCA’s Operation Holiday Joy event, preparing and serving lunch at Father Joe’s Village, a surprise bike distribution at a local elementary school, hosting a Rally Camps youth baseball clinic at the Jackie Robinson YMCA, hosting kids at the Rooftop Cinema for a special holiday movie screening of Elf, adopting a Monarch School classroom and providing gifts for the class, serve lunch to Marine Corps Recruit Depot recruits and their families, visiting patients and their families at Naval Medical Center San Diego, assist Mama’s Kitchen in delivering food to those in need throughout the San Diego community, and sorting and distributing food at the San Diego Food Bank.

Select events during the tour will be open for media coverage with coverage specifics to be distributed at a later date.
