MLB Unveils First Look At Capital One All-Star Village

Major League Baseball today unveiled the first look at Capital One All-Star Village, MLB’s hallmark fan festival that comes to Arlington for All-Star Week from July 13-16. All-Star Village features appearances from legendary players, dozens of interactive baseball-themed attractions for fans of all ages – including a Ferris Wheel – and Capital One PLAY BALL PARK, where kids can play informal ballgames on different sized diamonds throughout All-Star Week. Capital One All-Star Village encompasses the Texas Rangers former home, Choctaw Stadium, which will hold PLAY BALL PARK, as well as the Arlington Entertainment District’s North Lawn and Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center, which will play host to meet-and-greets with legends of the game, panel discussions, video games, food, baseball art, historic exhibits and more. After more than 30 years of hosting fan festivals at MLB All-Star Week, this is the first time that one will take place inside a former MLB ballpark when the Capital One PLAY BALL PARK section of All-Star Village takes over Choctaw Stadium. Watch this video for a first look at Capital One All-Star Village.

Throughout the four days of Capital One All-Star Village, fans have the opportunity to receive free autographs and participate in question-and-answer sessions and clinics led by former players, all of which is included with the price of admission. Regular admission costs $35, but for a limited time, fans can purchase $10 tickets at AllStarGame.com with the code PBPO. Eligible Capital One cardholders receive four complimentary tickets to Capital One All-Star Village and can get them here while supplies last. In addition to complimentary tickets, eligible cardholders will also have early access to Capital One All-Star Village each day, as well as dedicated Capital One cardholder entrances and express lanes at some of the most popular attractions.

In addition to former Major Leaguers appearing throughout All-Star Village, a number of former softball stars, MLB Youth Ambassadors and notable names in youth baseball are again joining the league at Capital One PLAY BALL PARK to lead young people through a variety of formal and informal clinics and games on the numerous diamonds inside Choctaw Stadium. PLAY BALL PARK will fill the stadium with a variety of diamonds, batting cages, pitching tunnels and hitting exhibition attractions like Home Run Derby, where youth can try hitting balls into the stands. Also new at PLAY BALL PARK this year is SwingMatch from Diamond Kinetics, a Trusted Youth Development Platform of MLB. SwingMatch leverages computer vision technology paired with MLB game content to create a simple, fast and fun experience where kids see which MLB All-Star they swing like. With Capital One PLAY BALL PARK located in Choctaw Stadium, fans have the opportunity to play ball on the same ground that the Texas Rangers played on for 25 years.
