MLB and GEICO renew multi-year sponsorship

Major League Baseball (MLB) and GEICO today announced a renewed sponsorship agreement that will present more baseball content to fans across the United States. As part of this multi-year agreement, MLB and GEICO are launching a new fan engagement platform called “More Baseball,” which will reach across a variety of MLB media entities.

The “More Baseball” marketing platform will provide fans with free access to regular season games in extra innings and extra content via MLB.TV, the MLB app and MLB.com. Following MLB All-Star Week, any time an MLB game enters extra innings, MLB.TV will stream the remainder of the game to fans across the globe (blackout restrictions apply) on the MLB app and MLB.com, compliments of GEICO. GEICO branding will be featured throughout the extra innings stream and GEICO will also become the presenting sponsor of Free Game of the Day on the MLB app and MLB.com for the remainder of the regular season.

“GEICO is always looking for ways to bring more value to our customers,” said Kate Jalkut, vice president of integrated marketing and media at GEICO. “Our renewed partnership with Major League Baseball will bring more game, team and player engagement opportunities to fans all season long. During MLB All-Star Week 2024, we’ll introduce new innovative ways for fans to enjoy more baseball and get more from their viewing experience, whether at the ballpark or at home.”

For the remainder of the season, MLB and GEICO will also share exclusive behind-the-scenes content featuring players on social media. As MLB continues to prioritize connecting fans to the game, this content series will feature episodes that tap into the lives of players off the field.

“We would like to thank GEICO for their renewed partnership with MLB and together we are excited to collaborate on new initiatives that will deliver ‘more baseball’ to fans across the country,” said Bill Morningstar, MLB Executive Vice President, Sponsorship Sales. “We look forward to delivering additional game coverage and behind-the-scenes content that will provide baseball fans more opportunities to create new connections with their favorite teams, players and the game overall.”

To celebrate the partnership, MLB and GEICO are teaming up to give away special prizes at MLB All-Star Week, like 23-inch GEICO baseball gloves, MLB gift cards and a chance to win a trip to the Fall Classic.
