Mariners Open the 2024 Season against the Boston Red Sox at T-Mobile Park on March 28
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Mariners 2024 season is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 28, when the Boston Red Sox come to T-Mobile Park, according to the tentative schedule announced today by Major League Baseball.
The seven-game Opening Homestand features four games against the Red Sox (March 28-31) and three against the Cleveland Guardians (April 1-3).
Year two of new schedule format will see Mariners play all National League teams again next season
The 2024 season will be the second under Major League Baseball’s Interleague Balanced Schedule format. The Mariners will play 13 games vs. the four AL West opponents (Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland and Texas), will play either six or seven games (one road series / one home series) vs. AL Central and AL East teams, and will play three games (one series, either home or road) vs. 14 Interleague opponents, as well as four games (two at home, two on the road) vs. San Diego.
The Mariners will host to the Chicago Cubs (April 12-14), Cincinnati Reds (April 15-17), Arizona Diamondbacks (April 26-28), Atlanta Braves (April 29-May 1), Philadelphia Phillies (August 2-4), New York Mets (August 9-11) and San Francisco Giants (August 23-25) next season.
Seattle will travel to the Milwaukee Brewers (April 5-7), Colorado Rockies (April 19-21), Washington Nationals (May 24-26), Miami Marlins (June 21-23), Pittsburgh Pirates (August 16-18), Los Angeles Dodgers (August 19-21) and St. Louis Cardinals (Sept. 6-8).
The Mariners will also play two against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park July 9-10, and host the Padres at T-Mobile Park for a two-game set September 10-11.
Other schedule highlights of note
- The Mets will make their first trip to Seattle since the 2017 season, while the Reds and Cubs return to T-Mobile Park for the first time since 2019.
- Seattle will begin the second half of the season with 21 of its first 36 games at home and close out the ’24 season with 12 of its final 18 games at home.
- The Mariners host the Toronto Blue Jays July 5-7, and the New York Yankees make their only trip to town September 17-19.
- The season concludes with a three-game homestand against the Oakland Athletics (Sept. 27-29).
