Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves unveil the official logo of the 2021 All-Star Game

Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Braves, and officials from the City of Atlanta and Cobb County today unveiled the official logo of the 2021 All-Star Game. The 91st Midsummer Classic will be played at Truist Park on Tuesday, July 13th, marking the fifth All-Star Game to be hosted by the Braves, the third to be played in Atlanta, and the first since 2000 at Turner Field. In addition, MLB announced that the 2021 Draft will be held in Atlanta during All-Star Week for the first time.

Earlier this evening, MLB and the Braves, in conjunction with FOX Sports South, unveiled the logo during a digital pregame ceremony prior to the Braves’ game against the Miami Marlins. Those participating in the digital event included Robert D. Manfred, Jr., Commissioner of Baseball; Baseball Hall of Famers and Braves legends Hank Aaron and Tom Glavine; former Braves player and current FOX Sports South analyst Jeff Francoeur; and Chip Caray, the play-by-play voice of the Braves.

The official logo of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game highlights Atlanta’s spectacular new ballpark. From the shape of the wall medallion to the entry truss, baseball fans are welcomed into the event with its modern amenities surrounded by Southern hospitality. From the warmth of the brick to the steel of the truss, the logo is punctuated by Atlanta’s colors of navy and red and is signed by the signature script of the Braves’ franchise.

The 2021 MLB Draft will be planned for July 11th-13th, and for the first time since the inception of the Draft in 1965, the event will be scheduled outside the month of June. The Draft will feature a minimum of 20 rounds across the three days, beginning with the opening night of the Draft on Sunday, July 11th following the 2021 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, part of All-Star Sunday at Truist Park. Since 2009, the first night of the Draft has been held live at MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey. Further details regarding the 2021 Draft will be announced in the coming months.

Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. said: “Major League Baseball is eager for the return of the All-Star Game and for the opportunity to put one of the game’s great new ballparks on a worldwide stage. Tonight marks the start of an exciting journey for the Braves’ organization and its fans as our sport prepares for a thrilling Postseason and for a successful All-Star Week next summer. We are pleased to make our Draft the newest part of 2021 All-Star Week festivities in Atlanta. The All-Star Game is a celebration of baseball, and the Draft will highlight the amateur levels of our great game and its future stars.”

“Today marks a day where we can be optimistic and look towards next July and all the exciting festivities that come along with All-Star Week,” said Terry McGuirk, Atlanta Braves Chairman. “We are delighted to also be a part of the first MLB Draft happening in conjunction of All-Star Week and can’t wait to have the spotlight shine on Cobb County, the City of Atlanta, The Battery Atlanta and of course Truist Park.”

The 2021 Midsummer Classic will join the All-Star Games of 1936, 1955, 1972 and 2000 as those hosted by the Braves franchise, with the latter two being played in the city of Atlanta. Prior to the Braves’ move to Atlanta for the 1966 season, the franchise hosted the 1936 game in Boston and the 1955 Midsummer Classic in Milwaukee.
