Kevin Brown extended as MASN play-by-play announcer

The Orioles today announced that they have reached a multi-year contract extension with play-by-play announcer KEVIN BROWN to remain the voice of the team’s television broadcast on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.

Brown is currently in his sixth season as a member of the Orioles broadcast team, his third as the primary television play-by-play commentator for MASN. He began his tenure with the Orioles in 2019 as a play-by-play announcer for the Orioles Radio Network, while making select television appearances.

“When he joined our broadcast team six years ago, we knew Kevin Brown would quickly become a household name,” said GREG BADER, Orioles Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “His knowledge and passion for the game, paired with his lighthearted personality and genuine relationships with his colleagues in the booth have turned each Orioles game into can’t miss television. We are grateful to have Kevin on our team and look forward to him calling winning Orioles baseball for years to come.”

“I'm humbled and honored to be a part of this next chapter of Orioles baseball,” said Brown. “My incredible colleagues in the booth and around the ballpark make every day a joy. Baltimore is a special place, and I'm grateful to call it my home. Here's to many more nights of this thrilling team, this passionate fan base, and all the ballpark food I can reasonably eat.”

In addition to his work with the Orioles, Brown calls MLB Postseason games on ESPN Radio and the Sunday Night Baseball Statcast Edition, Powered by Google Cloud alternate broadcast on ESPN2. He also serves as a play-by-play commentator for several collegiate sports across ESPN platforms, including football, basketball, softball, and hockey. Brown has called the Women’s College World Series the past four years on ESPN.

Brown worked for the Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, from 2011-17, serving as the assistant director of broadcasting and media relations from 2011-14 and director from 2015-17. He was the lead voice of the team during that time, calling their radio and television broadcasts.

He graduated from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University in 2011 with a degree in broadcast journalism and currently resides in Baltimore.

Orioles broadcasts on MASN have seen a 35 percent increase in viewership this season, one of just two MLB teams with a growth of at least 30 percent. In addition to the increase in viewership, Orioles games are the most popular primetime option throughout the DMV, averaging 100,000 viewers per quarter hour each night, more than every other local broadcast and cable network in the area.
