Dodgers sign Blake Treinen

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen on a two-year deal for $22 million.

Treinen, 36, returns to the World Champions after going 7-3 with a 1.93 ERA in 50 games with Los Angeles. He starred in the postseason, appearing in nine games, allowing three runs in 12.1 innings with a team-leading three saves, including 2.1 scoreless innings in Game 5 of the World Series to secure his second postseason win and clinch the Dodgers their eighth World Championship in franchise history. In four seasons with Los Angeles, he has gone 17-12 with 2.29 ERA and a 3.9 bWAR in 154 games.

He was an All-Star in 2018, posting a 4.4 bWAR with 9-2 record with the A’s. He finished the campaign with a microscopic 0.78 ERA and a career-high 38 saves, finishing sixth in the American League Cy Young voting. He is entering his 11th Major League season with Washington (2014-17), A’s (2017-19) and Los Angeles (2020-24) and he is combined 43-34 with a 2.78 ERA in 499 career games. He has 90 saves and 560 strikeouts in his career.
