Dodgers acquire Miguel Rojas

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired infielder Miguel Rojas from the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor league infielder Jacob Amaya.

Rojas, 33, played in 140 games with Marlins in 2022, hitting .236 with six homers and 36 RBI. He joins the Dodgers for his second career stint after making 85 appearances with the club in 2014 and recording 27 hits in 149 at-bats in his rookie season. He has been in the Majors parts of nine seasons, slashing .260/.314/.358 with 39 homers and 269 RBI while playing five different defensive positions. He was originally signed by the Cincinnati Reds out of Los Teques, Venezuela as an international free agent on November 24, 2005.

Amaya, 24, made 133 appearances in the Dodgers organization last season, hitting a combined .261 with 17 homers and 71 RBI. He began the season with Double-A Tulsa, recording an .870 OPS with nine homers and 26 RBI and finished with Triple-A Oklahoma City with eight homers and 45 RBI. He has been with the Dodgers organization for five seasons, amassing 42 homers and 232 RBI in 463 minor league games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of South Hills High School.
