D-backs award Druw Jones and Jose Cabrera with monthly honors

The Arizona Diamondbacks named Single-A Visalia Rawhide OF Druw Jones and High-A Hillsboro RHP Jose Cabrera the organization’s Minor League Player- and Pitcher-of-the-Month for August.

• Hit .287 (23-for-80)/.840 OPS with 2 doubles, 3 triples, 16 RBI, 25 walks, 9 stolen bases and 18 runs scored while reaching safely in 22 of 24 games with the Rawhide.
• Ranked among California League hitters in walks (1st, 25), on-base percentage (2nd, .453), triples (T-3rd, 3) and stolen bases (5th, 9).
• Owned a 6-game hitting streak from Aug. 25-31, batting .400 (8-for-20)/1.028 OPS with 1 double, 1 triple, 3 RBI, 3 walks, 1 stolen base and 4 runs scored.
• Recorded a career-high 5 RBI on Aug. 10 @ Modesto.
• Recorded 5 multi-hit games.
• Hit .313 (21-for-67)/.911 OPS with 2 doubles, 3 triples, 16 RBI, 22 walks, 9 stolen bases and 16 runs scored vs. righties.
• Signed as the D-backs’ first-round pick (2nd overall) in the 2022 Draft.

• Ranked among High-A pitchers in innings pitched (1st, 34.0), opponent average (2nd, .122), WHIP (2nd, 0.65), strikeouts (3rd, 36) and ERA (6th, 1.32).
• Struck out a career-high 11 batters on August 24 vs. Spokane.
• In 2 road starts, went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (1 R-0 ER in 12.1 IP), opponent .098 AVG (4-for-41)/.293 OPS, 4 walks and 15 strikeouts.
• Signed by the D-backs as a non-drafted free agent in 2021.
