The Colorado Rockies announced today the following transaction:

Veen, 22, is rated as the Rockies No. 3 prospect and the 83rd-best prospect overall by MLB Pipeline … has slashed .260/.355/.424 with 134 stolen bases through four Minor League seasons with the Rockies … was named the Northwest League MVP, a Post-Season All-Star and the league’s Top Prospect in 2022 after slashing .269/.368/.439 with a league-leading 50 stolen bases and 72 runs scored … played for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League in 2022 and was named the AFL Hitter of the Year … named a California League Post-Season All-Star and the league’s Top Prospect in 2021 after slashing .301/.399/.501 with a .901 OPS and 39 stolen bases with Single-A Fresno in his first professional season … limited to 46 games in 2023 and 65 games in 2024 due to injury … selected by the Rockies in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft out of Spruce Creek High School (Fla.).

The Rockies have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
