Cleveland Indians, Great Lakes Brewing Co. announce Christmas Ale in July at the Ballpark

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Indians today announced that Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s Christmas Ale will be featured at Progressive Field as part of Christmas Ale in July at the Ballpark – the first ever Christmas Ale in July celebration at Progressive Field on Thursday, July 22.

Christmas Ale in July at the Ballpark is one of a number of special events GLBC is hosting with its valued partners. The events will mark the first time that Christmas Ale will be featured outside of the Ohio City brewpub during summer.

“Our intention with this year’s expanded Christmas Ale in July programming was to thank our retail partners and fans for sticking with us and supporting us through a tough year, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate a safe return than with a special tapping at the ballpark,” Great Lakes Brewing Co. CEO Mark King said. “This is the first time we’ve carried out a Christmas Ale in July event at this scale, and we’re looking forward to pouring a lot of pints and spreading a lot of early holiday cheer in our hometown.”

Fans that attend the July 22 game will be able to enjoy fresh-brewed Christmas Ale on tap throughout the stadium in the GLBC Beer Garden and select Great Lakes draft locations throughout the ballpark. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase a Christmas Ale in July stadium-exclusive commemorative cup, while supplies last.

Fans are encouraged to dress up in their holiday best when they come to the ballpark on July 22 as Progressive Field will feature special Christmas in July programming and photo opportunities.

To celebrate the festive event, GLBC is hosting a Service Industry All Stars contest in which three lucky service industry employees and guests will win a VIP experience at the Christmas Ale in July event. Fans can nominate their favorite bartender, server or other hospitality employee by visiting www.greatlakesbrewing.com/tribe.
