Classic Mariners games on 710 ESPN and ROOT SPORTS for month of June
Seattle Mariners broadcast partners 710 ESPN Seattle and ROOT SPORTS are continuing their efforts to help keep fans in the game with re-broadcasts of classic Mariners games.
Every night starting at 7:00 p.m., 710 ESPN and ROOT SPORTS will reach into the archives and air some of the most memorable games in Mariners history. Full schedules for both radio and TV are available at Mariners.com/Classics. Here are some of the highlight for the month of May:
710 ESPN Classics Highlights
- June 1-7 is Ichiro Week with a selection of some of the many highlights from Ichiro’s outstanding career, including his “Star Wars” throw from right field to nail Terrance Long at third base on April 11, 2001, a walk-off home run off Mariano Rivera against the Yankees on September 18, 2009, the game in which he tied George Sisler’s single season hits record on October 1, 2004, and his final game at the Tokyo Dome on March 21, 2009.
- June 10-11, in honor of the MLB Draft with Major League debuts of two of the Mariners recent first-round draft picks, Taijuan Walker and Kyle Lewis.
- June 22-28 Kyle Seager Week with a series of Kyle’s biggest offensive games such as a walk-off homer against the Astros on April 23, 2014, three homers against the Tigers on August 13, 2019, four extra-base hits against the Yankees on June 2, 2014, and his 30th homer of the 2018 season.
ROOT SPORTS Classics Highlights
- Monday, June 1 -- 1997: Mariners vs White Sox, Randy Johnson strikes out 19
- Monday, June 8 – Mitch Haniger hits his first grand slam against the Tampa Bay Rays on August 19, 2017.
- Thursday, June 11 – Marco Gonzales pitches his first complete game against the Kansas City Royals on June 29, 2018.
- Wednesday, June 17 – Yusei Kikuchi handles the Yankees in a 10-1 win at Yankee Stadium on May 8, 2019.
