Cincinnati Reds 2022 Opening Day On-Field Festivities

The 146th Opening Day in Cincinnati is on Tuesday, April 12 when the Cincinnati Reds take on the Cleveland Guardians at 4:10 p.m. Gates will open to the public at 2:10 p.m., with pregame ceremonies starting at 3:30 p.m.

Celebrating the Cincinnati Bengals success, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor will be joined by quarterback Joe Burrow, who will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch to Taylor.

In addition, 2021 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja’Marr Chase will join Reds General Manager Nick Krall and Reds Manager David Bell to present second baseman Jonathan India with his 2021 National League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award during pregame ceremonies.

Opening Day ceremonies include:

MLB NL Rookie of the Year Award: Presented to Reds second baseman Jonathan India by Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Reds General Manager Nick Krall and Reds Manager David Bell.

*First Pitch: *Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will throw to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor.

*National Anthem: *

*Findlay Market Basket: *Representatives from Findlay Market will make their annual “Findlay Market Basket” presentation to Reds President and COO Phil Castellini.

Rosie Reds: Representatives from the Rosie Reds organization will make the traditional presentation of Opening Day plaques to Reds manager David Bell and Guardians manager Terry Francona.

*God Bless America: *Vocal quartet The Mistics will sing “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch.

Fans will receive a 2022 Reds magnetic schedule and car magnet presented by PNC Bank.
