Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies named National League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for June; Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees named American League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for June

First baseman Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies has been voted the National League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for June, and outfielder Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been named the American League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for June. Following their wins in May, it is the first time in MLB history that the same players were named the AL and NL Player of the Month in back-to-back months. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.

Overall, it is the 11th instance of a player winning back-to-back awards in the AL and the first since Shohei Ohtani last June and July; and the 10th instance in the NL, marking the first since Andrew McCutchen won in June and July 2012. This is Harper’s fourth career honor after also winning twice as a member of the Washington Nationals in April 2016 and May 2015 in his first NL MVP season. Judge’s eight career monthly honors are now tied for third-most in Major League history with Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, trailing only Barry Bonds (13 awards) and Alex Rodriguez (10 awards). Judge also won in May 2023; May, July and September/October 2022 in his AL MVP season; and June and September 2017. He has now won each of the Yankees’ last six Player of the Month awards.
