Brewers name Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for June

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named catcher Darrien Miller as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Logan Henderson as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June.

The Brewers also named infielder Jesús Made as Complex League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Wenderlyn King as Complex League Pitcher of the Month.

Miller, 23, batted .283 (17-for-60) with 4 doubles, 1 HR, 9 RBI and 10 runs in 18 games for Double-A Biloxi in June. He drew 10 walks and was hit by a pitch 9 times in 79 plate appearances to post a Southern League-leading .456 on-base percentage for the month.

Selected in the ninth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Clovis (CA) High School, Miller reached base safely in 16 of 18 games in June. He carried an 18-game on-base streak from May 26-June 22 that spanned the first 13 games of the month.

Henderson, 22, went 4-0 with a 1.66 ERA (21.2ip, 4er) over 4 starts for Biloxi in June. He issued just 4 walks with 29 strikeouts, posting a 0.88 WHIP and holding opponents to a .192 batting average (15-for-78). He matched his career high with 10 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work on June 15 vs. Tennessee and again on June 28 vs. Pensacola.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of McLennan Community College (TX), Henderson led the Southern League in wins (4) and ranked third in strikeouts (29) for the month. His 1.66 ERA was second best among pitchers with at least 20.0 innings pitched in the Southern League in June.

Made, 17, batted .343/.443/.597 (23-for-67) with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 3 HR, 16 RBI, 25 runs and 7 stolen bases in 19 games for the Rookie DSL Brewers 1 in June.

He ranked among Dominican Summer League leaders in runs (2nd, 25), slugging percentage (7th, .597), OPS (8th, 1.040), batting average (T8th, .343) and total bases (9th, 40).

King, 18, went 1-1 with a 1.53 ERA (17.2ip, 3er) in 4 starts for the DSL Brewers 1 in June. He issued just 1 walk with 21 strikeouts, including recording 10 strikeouts over 5.0 innings against the DSL Padres Brown on June 13.

The Brewers signed Made and King as a non-drafted free agents out of the Dominican Republic in January.
