Blue Jays sign Josh Walker
The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with LHP Josh Walker on a one-year contract (US $760,000).
Walker, 30, made 10 appearances for the New York Mets in 2024, spending the majority of the season at the Triple-A level with Syracuse before a midseason trade to the Pirates organization. Across 43 total games last year, the left-handed reliever posted a 4.32 ERA with a 27.9% strikeout rate and a 32.7% whiff rate. The 6-6, 225lb. native of Otisville, NY, was selected by the Mets in the 37th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of New Haven, making his MLB debut for the team in 2023.
Additionally, RHP Hagen Danner has been designated for assignment.
