Athletics agree to terms with OF/1B Seth Brown on one-year contract

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics have agreed to terms with outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown on a one-year contract for the 2025 season, avoiding arbitration.

Brown batted .231 with 14 home runs and 44 RBI in 124 games last year in his sixth season in the majors. He was hitting .189 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 63 games before he was outrighted to Las Vegas on June 18, but returned to Oakland on July 11 to bat .271 with nine home runs and 29 RBI over his final 61 games. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter started 39 games in left field, 30 at first base, 24 in right field and one in left field. Brown is a .228 career hitter with 73 home runs and 230 RBI in 530 games, all with the A’s. His games played are the most by an Athletic over the last seven years.
