Astros Return to Minute Maid Park to Host the White Sox and Red Sox

HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros return home for a six-game homestand, hosting the Chicago White Sox, Aug. 16-18 and the Boston Red Sox, Aug. 19-21.

The Astros will celebrate Hall of Fame Weekend, presented by Houston Methodist, Aug. 16-18. During the weekend, the Astros will celebrate the induction of the Astros Hall of Fame Class of 2024 all weekend long. Ken Caminiti and René Cárdenas will be inducted in a pregame ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Other highlights of the homestand include a Jose Altuve replica jersey, Jose Altuve bobblehead, Barbie Night Game, and more.

Also, this weekend, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, the Astros will showcase the people and pursuits that make our players who they are during 2024 Players’ Weekend. A different aspect of the players’ lives will be highlighted each day through game presentation elements in-stadium, broadcast enhancements with media partners, the League and Club social media content and more. Friday highlights the fun aspects of players personalities, friendships, and hobbies. On Saturday, the focus turns to causes, charities and community initiatives that are important to players. On Sunday, players get to show their appreciation and celebrate the people that helped them on their road to the Major Leagues. Some anticipated tributes include bats and cleats that pay homage to home countries/hometowns, alma maters, nicknames, favorite characters, family members and foundations.

Friday, Aug. 16 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 7:10 p.m. CT
The Astros open the six-game homestand against the White Sox at 7:10 p.m. CT on Friday. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive a Jose Altuve ‘2010s’ White Replica Jersey, presented by Houston Methodist.

Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Bar, where fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Draft, a live DJ and amazing views.

The Astros Foundation and Gallagher are hosting athletes Special Olympics of Texas at the game on Friday. They will have a meet and greet with select players prior to the game and attend batting practice. There will be a special pregame ceremony and Ainsley, 21, an athlete from Special Olympics Texas who competes in basketball, track & field, equestrian, tennis and bowling will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

The National Anthem will be performed by Garland McMeans Junior High School.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips are set for postgame, featuring the musical theme of one-hit wonders. Fireworks are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

A portion on the proceeds from Friday’s LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 raffle will go to W.I.S.E. (Women in Sports and Entertainment).

Saturday, Aug. 17 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 6:10 p.m. CT
Game two of the series against the White Sox is set for 6:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive a Jose Altuve ‘2000th Hit’ Bobblehead Part 2, presented by Texas Bay Credit Union.

Prior to the game, Houston Methodist will be holding a blood drive in the Depot at Union Station, Minute Maid Park from 4 pm. – 6 p.m. Fans that donate will be given an Alex Bregman Bobblehead or an Astros belt bag.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early on Saturday for the pregame Astros Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2024, Ken Caminiti and René Cárdenas.

The National Anthem will be performed by Lisa Pierre.

In honor of the Saturday of Players’ Weekend celebrating all the charity and community work by our players, a portion of Saturday’s LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 will go to charitable organizations selected by our players and general manager. Player foundations include the Jose Altuve Foundation, the Kyle Tucker Foundation, Lance McCullers Jr. Foundation and Bregman Cares. Other organizations that are supported by players and front office personnel include: Entrusted Houston, selected by Mauricio Dubon, Girls Inc., selected by Ryan Pressly, Covenant House & Be a Resource (BEAR) Hader’s Heart, selected by Josh Hader and general manager Dana Brown selected Ronald McDonald House.

Sunday, July 18 – Astros vs. Chicago White Sox: 1:10 p.m. CT
The Astros will close out Hall of Fame Weekend, presented by Houston Methodist with game three of the series against the White Sox at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive an Astros Retro Duffle Bag, presented by Houston Methodist.

The National Anthem and God Bless America will be performed by Jim Sikorski.

Kids Run the Bases, presented by Olshan Foundation Solutions will take place following the game for kids in attendance ages 5-12.

A portion of Sunday’s LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 Raffle will go to the Cactus Jack Foundation.

Monday, July 19 – Astros vs. Boston Red Sox: 7:10 p.m. CT
The Astros open up a three-game series against the Red Sox at 7:10 p.m. CT on Monday. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM. Monday’s game will also be a Los Astros Spanish Broadcast on Space City Home Network, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Los Astros broadcast will be available on the Space City Home Network alternate channel.

A Space City Monday, the Astros will wear their Nike City Connect Space City jerseys.

10,000 fans will receive a Space City Lunch Box, presented by LGI Homes.

The National Anthem will be performed by Clear Spring High School.

In a pregame ceremony, the Astros Foundation will recognize the CenterPoint Energy Youth Coach of the Month for July, head baseball coach Russell Ferrell of Galveston’s Ball High School.

Tuesday, July 20 – Astros vs. Boston Red Sox: 7:10 p.m. CT
Game two of the series against the Red Sox is set for 7:10 p.m. CT on Tuesday. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM. Tuesday’s game will also be a Los Astros Spanish Broadcast on Space City Home Network, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Los Astros broadcast will be available on the Space City Home Network alternate channel.

10,000 fans will receive an artist-designed t-shirt, presented by Minute Maid. Tuesday is also National Lemonade Day, and in celebration, Minute Maid is having a special lemonade sampling free to fans in center field, section 154, all game long.

Every Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park is Dollar Dog Night, presented by Texas Chili Company. Fans are treated to all-you-can-eat hot dogs that are just $1 each Tuesday home game during the season.

The National Anthem will be performed by Kingwood United Methodist Church.

Prior to the game, Astros closer Josh Hader will hold his second monthly Hader’s Heart event, as he hosts foster kids from Covenant House at the game.

A portion of Tuesday’s LGI Homes Share2Care 50/50 Raffle will go to the Ronald McDonald House.

Wednesday, July 21 – Astros vs. Boston Red Sox: 1:10 p.m. CT
The Astros close out the six-game homestand and series with the Red Sox on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m. The game will be televised live on Space City Home Network, with English radio on KBME 790 AM and Spanish radio on TUDN 93.3 FM.

Wednesday’s game will also be a Los Astros Spanish Broadcast on Space City Home Network, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The Los Astros broadcast will be available on the Space City Home Network alternate channel.

Open at every home Astros game from the time gates open until the end of the seventh inning, fans can purchase one-of-a-kind bats, baseballs, photos, artwork and more signed by current Astros and Astros greats. Other items signed by local Houston celebrities are also available, along with special fundraising items with all the proceeds also going to the Astros Foundation.

ASTROS FOUNDATION AUCTIONS
The Astros Foundation will hold online auctions featuring autographed memorabilia at the beginning of specific homestands. These auctions will run until the end of each homestand, with all proceeds benefiting the Astros Foundation. Every auction will be held on the MLB Houston Astros Auction website.
