Astros continue first homestand of the season, April 19-24

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Astros continue their first homestand of the season as they finish off the three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20, before welcoming the Toronto Blue Jays to Minute Maid Park, Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24.

Highlights of the jam-packed homestand includes AL Championship replica ring giveaways, a Colt .45s Alex Bregman replica jersey, the first wear of the Nike City Connect Space City jerseys, Autism Awareness Day, Faith and Family Day and Orbit’s Birthday celebration.

Tuesday, April 19 vs. Los Angeles Angels – 7:10 p.m.
The Astros continue their home-opening series with the Angels on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. CT. 10,000 fans receive a Yordan Alvarez AL Championship Replica Ring, presented by Coca-Cola. The Astros will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Tuesday, with a special pregame ceremony and a first pitch from J.C. Hartman, the first African-American player in Houston franchise history.

Tuesday will also be the first Autism Awareness Night at Minute Maid Park, in partnership with Bregman Cares. The night will feature a special pregame ceremony and a special first pitch from nine-year-old Brady Columbus on behalf of Bregman Cares. The pitch will be caught by Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, Columbus' godfather. Unique activations will be located around the ballpark, including special lower PA volume in section 156, 305 and 405. A sensory room will also be located in Champions Pavilion by section 256. Local Houston organizations including Unlocking the Spectrum, Lakeshore and Easter Seals Greater Houston will have activations along the main concourse. In honor of the celebration of Jackie Robinson Day and autism awareness, all the proceeds of the 50/50 raffle charity on Tuesday night will go to the Jackie Robinson Foundation and Bregman Cares. It is also Dollar Dog Night, presented by Texas Chili Company. Fans are treated to all-you-can-eat hot dogs that are just $1 each every Tuesday home game during the season.

Wednesday, April 20 vs. Los Angeles Angels – 5:40 p.m. CT
The Astros finish off the three-game set with the Angels on Wednesday and will wear their new Nike City Connect Space City uniforms for the first time. 10,000 fans will receive a Jose Altuve AL Champion Replica Ring, presented by Gallery Furniture.

Former NASA Astronaut Dr. Bernard Harris will throw out the first pitch in honor of the first on-field wear of our Space City uniforms. The funds raised from the 50/50 raffle during Wednesday’s game will go to his non-profit, the Bernard Harris Institute/Bernard Harris Foundation. The non-profit organization was founded by the former astronaut to serve socially and economically disadvantaged communities locally and across the nation.

Special space-themed photo opportunities, including the official introduction of the space-themed mural on the side of Union Station will occur on Wednesday. Erica Enders, a four-time NHRA Pro Stock World Champion race car driver and native Houstonian will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Friday, April 22 vs. Toronto Blue Jays – 7:10 p.m. CT
The Astros open up a three-game series against the Blue Jays on Friday at 7:10 pm. The first Flashback Friday of the season, the Astros will celebrate the decade of the 60’s with 10,000 fans receiving a Colt .45s Alex Bregman Road Jersey, presented by Coca-Cola.

Prior to every Friday home game, a Pregame Happy Hour presented by Budweiser will take place at the Michelob Ultra Bar from 5 pm to 7 pm. Fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Draft, a live DJ and amazing views.

Miss Texas 2021, Victoria Hinojosa, will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.

After the game, the first Big and Bright Friday Night fireworks of the season is on deck. Friday Night Fireworks, presented by ConocoPhillips, will be featuring hit music of the 1960s. Friday Night Fireworks shows are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

Saturday, April 23 vs. Toronto Blue Jays – 3:10 p.m. CT
Saturday’s game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays is Faith and Family Night, presented by Chick-fil-A Houston. Christian musician Micah Tyler will perform an inspiring postgame concert following the game against the Blue Jays. Each game ticket is also a ticket to the postgame concert and seating for the show is general admission. The concert stage will be located on the third base side. The Astros will celebrate Yuli Gurriel’s 2021 American League batting title and his 2021 Gold Glove award in a pregame ceremony.

The team will also celebrate their 2021 Rawlings Gold Glove team award in a pregame ceremony.

A pregame ceremony recognizing Organ Donor Awareness in partnership with Houston Methodist is set for Saturday, along with a special first pitch.

For Earth Day, the Astros Foundation with LyondellBasell and Trees for Houston will be giving away 5,000 trees from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Parking Lot B, 503 Chartres Street 77003. After the distribution, the LyondellBasell will be handing out recycling bags on the main concourse during the game.

Sunday, April 24 vs. Toronto Blue Jays – 1:10 p.m. CT
The Astros will finish up the series with the Blue Jays and the six-game homestand at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday. The game will be a birthday celebration for everyone’s favorite mascot, Orbit. In celebration of Orbit’s Birthday, 10,000 fans will receive an Orbit Bobblehead, presented by Coca-Cola.

A special Orbit Birthday celebration add-on package is available for $35. Each person attending will need a Birthday Party Voucher and it will gain you access to celebrate Orbit with a pregame birthday party in Union Station from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Activities will include face painting, a caricaturist, photo opportunities, snacks and more. The birthday party will feature Orbit and many of his mascot friends from Houston and throughout the MLB.

There is also a special celebratory Orbit Birthday Party t-shirt add-on for $15. T-shirts are available to pick up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You must have a game ticket to redeem your Orbit T-Shirt add-on package.
