A’s agree to terms with second-round Draft pick Tommy White 

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms with 2024 Second-Round selection Tommy White, the club announced today.

White, 21, began his collegiate career at North Carolina State and was named the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year before transferring to LSU as a sophomore. That season, White led the nation in RBI and ranked third in total bases en route to winning the 2023 National Championship with the Tigers. He was named First-Team All-American by Baseball America and was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award in 2023.

The St. Petersburg, Fla., native hit .330 with 12 doubles, 24 home runs, and 70 RBI to go along with a 1.039 OPS in 66 games played for LSU this season. He was named a Second-Team All-American by ABCA and NCBWA and Third-Team All-American by Baseball America. Across three collegiate seasons, White hit .355 with a 1.123 OPS with 48 doubles, 75 home runs, and 249 RBI.
