Pirates sign two more players from 2017 Draft

The Pittsburgh Pirates today signed the following players from the 2017 First-Year Player Draft. The announcement was made by Joe DelliCarri, Pirates Director of Amateur Scouting.

Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game First-Team All-American and California All-Region First-Team selection…Hit .369 (38-for-103) with six doubles, 11 home runs and 34 RBI in 34 games as a senior at Rancho Bernardo…Also hit 12 home runs during his junior season…Was ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the 79th-best prospect available in the draft…Attended the same high school as current Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams.

Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game First-Team All-American and West All-Region First-Team selection…Hit .467 with seven home runs and 30 RBI as a senior while being named to The Oklahoman's All-State and Big All-City teams…Was ranked 46th by MLBPipeline.com on the 2017 Prospect Watch list… Also played quarterback in high school.
The Pirates have now signed 12 players from the 2017 draft.
