Phillies Complete Final Day Of 2024 MLB Draft Selections

The Phillies have completed their selections for the third and final day of the 2024 MLB Draft, with one selection in each of today’s 10 rounds (11-20). Overall, in this year’s draft, they selected seven right-handed pitchers, five left-handed pitchers, five outfielders, two infielders and one catcher.

The club’s selections from today are as follows:

Round 11 (No. 342)

• RHP Titan Hayes, Austin Peay State University (TN) – The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Hayes posted a 3.48 ERA (8 ER, 20.2 IP) with 20 strikeouts in 15 relief appearances during his junior season and recorded seven saves, which were the third-most in the Atlantic Sun Conference. A native of Enid, Okla., Hayes, 22, earned three saves with a 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts in six games (6.2 IP) for Chatham in the Cape Cod Baseball League this year.

Round 12 (No. 372)

• LHP A.J. Wilson, University of North Carolina at Charlotte (NC) – The 23-year-old Wilson went 5-3 with a 4.85 ERA (32 ER, 59.1 IP) and 86 strikeouts (13.04 SO/9.0 IP) in 27 relief appearances as a graduate student in 2024. A 6-foot-3, 225-pound native of Pilot Mountain, N.C., he ranked first in the American Athletic Conference in strikeouts among relievers.

Round 13 (No. 402)

• RHP Tegan Cain, University of Kansas (KS) – Cain, 21, went 1-2 in 27 games (1 start) with a 5.94 ERA (22 ER, 33.1 IP) with 47 strikeouts. A native of Ellis, Kan., the 6-foot, 200-pound right-hander earned the win in the first game of the Big 12 Championship this year by posting a perfect inning of relief with one strikeout against Kansas State University.

Round 14 (No. 432)

• LHP Jared Spencer, Indiana State University (IN) – The 6-foot-3, 195-pound left-hander went 6-0 with a 4.08 ERA (24 ER, 53.0 IP), two saves and 72 strikeouts over 18 outings (9 starts) during his junior season in 2024. A native of Centreville, Mich., Spencer, 21, ranked tied for seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference in wins.

Round 15 (No. 462)

• RHP Luke Gabrysh, Saint Joseph’s University (PA) – The 21-year-old Gabrysh pitched in 20 games (1 start) with a 6.10 ERA (28 ER, 41.1 IP) and 37 strikeouts in his junior season. The Wilmington, Del., native earned the win against George Washington University in the Hawks’ final game of the season, which secured a berth in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

Round 16 (No. 492)

• RHP Eli Trop, University of Pennsylvania (PA) – Trop, 22, made 48 relief appearances over three collegiate seasons, going 7-2 with a 3.07 ERA (19 ER, 55.2 IP), four saves and 82 strikeouts (13.26 SO/9.0 IP). A native of Seattle, Wash., the 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-hander held opposing hitters to a .179 batting average in his college career.

Round 17 (No. 522)

• RHP Ryan Degges, University of North Carolina at Charlotte (NC) – The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Degges went 2-1 in his junior season with a 6.33 ERA (30 ER, 42.2 IP) and 51 strikeouts (10.77 SO/9.0 IP) in 24 appearances, all of which came in relief. The 21-year-old native of Knoxville, Tenn., also held opposing hitters to a .236 batting average.

Round 18 (No. 552)

• LHP Kevin Warunek, Longwood University (VA) – The 21-year-old Warunek went 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA (5 ER, 21.2 IP) and 25 strikeouts in 12 relief appearances as a junior in 2024. A native of Gainesville, Va., the 6-foot-4, 201-pound left-hander allowed zero earned runs in eight of his 12 outings and was named Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week on March 25.

Round 19 (No. 582)

• LHP Erik Ritchie, East Carolina University (NC) – Ritchie, 21, appeared in 28 games (4 starts), compiling a 6.67 ERA (22 ER, 29.2 IP) with 33 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. The 6-foot-1, 211-pound left-hander is a native of Telford, Pa.

Round 20 (No. 612)

• RHP Kyler Carmack, University of Mississippi (MS) – The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Carmack posted a 4.03 ERA (36 ER, 80.1 IP) with 71 strikeouts over two collegiate seasons at Arkansas State University (2023) and Ole Miss (2024). A native of Cabot, Ark., Carmack, 21, was named Second Team Freshman All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in 2023.
