Oakland A’s Add Johnny Doskow to the 2023 Broadcast Team
OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s have added longtime Sacramento River Cats broadcaster Johnny Doskow to the broadcast team, the Club announced today. Doskow will be behind the mic for pregame, play-by-play, and postgame coverage for 65+ games during Spring Training and the regular season. Additionally, Doskow will join A’s Cast Live, the A’s daily live sports talk show hosted by Chris Townsend, as a contributor.
Doskow has been the voice of the Sacramento River Cats since 2000 and called three Triple-A Championships and five Pacific Coast League Championships. Before joining Sacramento, Doskow was the radio broadcaster for the Fresno Grizzlies (1998-2000) and the High Desert Mavericks (1996-1998). He made his Major League debut in 2012, joining the A’s radio booth for a brief stint while Ken Korach was recovering from surgery. He also made an appearance in the San Francisco Giants’ radio booth along with Dave Flemming on Sept. 19, 2022.
Doskow published a book, Goodnight Em: Baseball and Life Through Haiku, in 2020. The title is a nod to his signature sign-off, as he wishes his daughter, Emily, a good night at the end of each River Cats broadcast.
The Tarrytown, New York, native graduated from the University of La Verne with a bachelor’s degree in communications, radio, and television. Doskow resides in El Dorado Hills, California, with his wife, Deborah, and daughter.
Doskow joins Ken Korach, who is returning for his 28th season with the A's and his 18th as the team's lead radio announcer, and Vince Cotroneo, who will begin his 18th season with the Club.
