Indians place C Roberto Perez on DL
The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League roster:
Placed C ROBERTO PEREZ on the 15-day Disabled List with a right thumb injury.
Purchased the contract of C ADAM MOORE (#45) from Triple-A Columbus.
Perez was injured during Saturday night's game at Philadelphia after making a diving tag at home plate to end the 5th inning. Perez has made 4 starts at catcher for Cleveland (0-for-8, RBI, 6 BB) with one base runner caught stealing (1-for-1) and one pick-off.
Moore, who will turn 32 on May 8, began the season at Triple-A Columbus and has appeared in 16 games for the Clippers, going 7-for-45 (.156) with 2 homers, 5 RBI, 6 walks and 15 strikeouts. The veteran backstop is in his second season with the Cleveland organization after re-signing as a Minor League free agent on Nov. 19, 2015 with an invitation to Major League Spring Training. Moore hit .429 (6-14) with 2 doubles and one RBI in 13 Cactus League games.
