CARDINALS ANNOUNCE 2025 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

LOUIS, Mo., July 18, 2024 – The St. Louis Cardinals, in conjunction with Major League Baseball’s league-wide release, today announced its 2025 regular season schedule. The Season Opener is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, against Minnesota as part of a six-game homestand featuring three games with the Twins (March 27, 29-30) followed by three games against the Los Angeles Angels (March 31-April 2).

The Cardinals will open the season at home for the sixth time since 2010 (2011, 2017, 2020, 2022, 2023). It marks the second time the club opens the season against an American League opponent (Toronto, 2023).

The Cardinals will continue their run of American League opponents to begin the season when they travel to Fenway Park and square off against the Boston Red Sox (April 4-6) to kick off the first road trip of the year.

The club will conclude the regular season on the road for just the third time since 2016 when they travel to play the San Francisco Giants (Sept. 22-24) and Chicago Cubs (Sept. 26-28).

Interleague Matchups

As part of MLB’s balanced schedule, the Cardinals will host eight American League opponents for eight three-game home series. In addition to the aforementioned series with the Twins and Angels, St. Louis will host the Houston Astros (April 14-16), Detroit Tigers (May 19-21), Kansas City Royals (June 3-5), Toronto Blue Jays (June 9-11), New York Yankees (August 15-17), and the Athletics (Sept. 1-3).

The Cardinals will visit the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals (May 16-18), Baltimore Orioles (May 26-28), Texas Rangers (May 30-June 1), Chicago White Sox (June 17-19), Cleveland Guardians (June 27-29), Tampa Bay Rays (August 22-24), and Seattle Mariners (Sept. 8-10) for three games each.

Division Foes

The Cardinals will face their four National League Central division opponents 13 times each—two series versus each opponent both at home and on the road—for a total of 52 games. Busch Stadium will host the Cubs for a four-game weekday series on June 23-26 and for a three-game weekend series on Aug. 8-10; Cincinnati on June 20-22 & Sept. 15-17; Milwaukee for two three-game weekend series on April 25-27 & Sept. 19-21; and Pittsburgh on May 5-7 & Aug. 25-28.

Monthly Breakdown

The Cardinals are scheduled to play 49 of their 81 home games (97 total games) before the All-Star Break (July 14-17), playing 15 home games in March/April, 12 in May, 16 in June, 13 in both July & August, and 12 home games in September.

Holidays/Notable Days

The club will host one holiday game at Busch Stadium: September 1 vs. the Athletics (Labor Day). The team will be on the road for Easter (April 20 at New York Mets), Mother’s Day (May 11 at Washington), Memorial Day (May 26 at Baltimore), Father’s Day (June 15 at Milwaukee), Juneteenth (June 19 at Chicago White Sox), and Independence Day (July 4 at Chicago Cubs). The team will host the Houston Astros on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15) and the Cincinnati Reds on Roberto Clemente Day (September 15).

A Tale of Two Halves

In the first half of the season, St. Louis will not play a single game outside the Eastern or Central time zone. Conversely, all of the team’s West Coast road trips are scheduled for after the All-Star Break. The club will only visit the East Coast one time after the All-Star Break (Miami & Tampa from August 18-24).

Longest Stretches

The Cardinals longest homestand of the 2025 campaign consists of two separate nine-game homestands from June 3-11 (Kansas City, Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto) and August 8-17 (Chicago Cubs, Colorado, New York Yankees). The team also has two different road trips consisting of nine games over 10 days: May 9-18 (Washington, Philadelphia, Kansas City) and June 27-July 6 (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago Cubs).

The team’s longest stretch without an off day runs from June 17-July 2 (16 games), which is also part of a longer stretch that will see them play 28 games over 29 days (June 3-July 2).
