Angels announce 2021 regular season schedule

Major League Baseball today announced the 2021 regular season schedule. The Angels will celebrate their 60th Anniversary Season throughout the year, starting with Opening Day on Thursday, April 1 against the Chicago White Sox at Angel Stadium. The game will represent the first time the Angels begin a season at home since 2016. Additionally, it will mark the Angels seventh time opening against the White Sox, after previously facing Chicago on Opening Day in 1962, 1966, 1974, 1988, 1989 and 1992.

Following the six-game opening homestand against the White Sox (April 1-4) and Astros (April 5-6), the first road trip of the year will feature visits to Toronto (including Blue Jays Home Opener; April 8-11) and Kansas City (April 12-14). Overall, the Angels 2021 schedule features 12 total homestands and 12 road trips.

The Angels will play 20 total Interleague games in 2021 and will face all five N.L. West opponents for a second consecutive season. In Freeway Series action, the Angels will host the Los Angeles Dodgers for three games (May 7-9) and will visit Dodger Stadium for three games (August 6-8). The Angels will also play home series against the Giants (June 22-23), Rockies (July 26-28) and Padres (August 27-28) and will make visits to San Francisco (May 31-June 1), Arizona (June 11-13) and San Diego (Sept. 7-8).

The final two homestands of the year will also be the longest of the season. The penultimate homestand includes nine games in 11 days, against the Padres (Aug. 27-28), Yankees (Aug. 30-Sept. 1) and Rangers (Sept. 3-6). The final homestand of the year features 10 games in 10 days against Oakland (Sept. 17-19), Houston (Sept. 20-23) and Seattle (Sept. 24-26).

The road schedule features three different three-city trips: April 22-May 2 (Houston/Texas/Seattle), Aug. 17-24 (Detroit/Cleveland/Baltimore) and Sept. 7-16 (San Diego/Houston/Chicago White Sox). The road schedule also includes a six game stretch in the Bay Area with back-to-back series at the Athletics and Giants (May 27-June 1).
