Academy athletes represented in Rangers sponsor patch announcement

Last Wednesday, March 27, the Texas Rangers unveiled their 2024 jerseys, now featuring an Energy Transfer sponsor patch on the sleeve.

The multi-year partnership extension was announced during an official press conference at Globe Life Field that featured Rangers pitchers Josh Sborz and Dane Dunning modeling the team’s Championship gold-trimmed jerseys alongside Academy standouts Jacob Ayala, Gio Frias, Trace Spann and Alyssa Summers, who showcased the team’s remaining colorways.

Headquartered in Dallas, Energy Transfer is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in the U.S. and a close partner of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation since May 2018, when the company made a significant commitment to endowing the programs and operations of the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy.

“Energy Transfer has been a part of Texas Rangers Youth Academy’s success and the no-cost baseball and softball programming since our doors opened,” said Juan Leonel Gárciga, senior director of the Youth Academy and baseball development. “Last week’s event unveiling the new sponsor patch was the perfect way to involve a handful of our top athletes who have all benefitted from Energy Transfer's generous commitment to the future of baseball and softball in our community.”

Ayala, Frias, Spann and Summers showcased the road gray and road blue jerseys, as well as the Nike City Connect and fan-favorite powder blue jersey for the press event and got to know the World Series Champions Sborz and Dunning, who also signed some autographs for the group.
