PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies announced Friday night that right-hander Zach Eflin had successful surgery to repair his left patella tendon.
Eflin will be immobilized for six weeks, but he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready by Spring Training.
The Phillies placed Eflin on the disabled list in August because of patellar tendinopathy in both knees. He had surgery to repair the right knee last month. Elfin went 3-5 with a 5.54 ERA in 11 starts this season. If he is healthy, he will compete for a spot in the Phillies' rotation in Spring Training.
Dr. Steve Cohen performed Eflin's surgery.
