Exciting new food items await at Yankee Stadium
NEW YORK -- Watching Aaron Judge hit monster home runs isn’t the only thing to look forward to at Yankee Stadium this season. On Wednesday, the Yankees unveiled an expanded dining menu that would make Rachael Ray blush. The new food options will be available starting with the Yankees home opener against the Orioles on March 28 at 1:05 p.m. ET.
“I think the fans will love the variety [of food that we have at the stadium],” said Matthew Gibson, senior executive chef at Yankee Stadium. “All the food that is being showcased is available for every single fan. If you are a normal ballpark … goer, we have that. We also have vegetarian, gluten-free food. Our goal is for every fan to enjoy themselves.”
Fans are encouraged to visit www.yankees.com/eats for a downloadable dining guide and full information on what Yankee Stadium menus have to offer. It’s more than just hamburgers, hot dogs and peanuts.
For example, fans can enjoy buffalo wings served with a variety of sauces and dry rubs. The baby back ribs, glazed with Mighty Quinn’s Boylans Black Cherry BBQ Sauce, are out of this world.
Are you a vegetarian? No problem. There is the Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower Bun served with celery slaw and creamy blue cheese dressing. The Bareburger offerings include the Beyond Sausage sandwich with avocado bites and the Changeup Burger, a black bean burger topped with pickled red onions, spinach, guacamole and spicy pico de gallo on a sprout bun.
Yankee Stadium also has a special milkshake this year. Originally introduced in September 2018 during Hispanic Heritage Month, the Tres Leches Shake joins the Celebration Shake, Pinstripe Shake and Chocolate All-Star Shake on the 2019 menu. The Tres Leches Shake is a vanilla shake with tres leches cake, churro, condensed milk and has a rim-garnished with puffed rice.
Food isn’t the only thing fans will get to enjoy. Stadium visitors will also be able to enjoy the City Winery Wine Bar in Section 106, as well as the Blue Point Bleachers Bar on the 200 Level in the left-field bleachers -- which is home to the NY Pinstripe Pilsner, available exclusively at Yankee Stadium.
“We have a top-level team, a top-level building. We want to make sure the food is constantly evolving and changing and making sure that we are up to culinary trends,” Gibson said. “We built a solid brand on making sure that we are always pushing the envelope of food being offered.”
Yankee Stadium is also a place to meet new friends, with multiple spots to be social spread around the stadium. Gathering locations at the stadium include: the Plymouth Rock Kids Clubhouse (located on the 300 Level in right field), the Mastercard Batter’s Eye Deck in center field, Frank’s RedHot Terrace (overlooking the visiting bullpen), Toyota Terrace (overlooking the Yankees’ bullpen), the AT&T Sports Lounge (Section 134), the Budweiser Party Decks (on the 300 Level concourse) and the Pepsi Food Court (located between Sections 125 and 127B).
Fans are also welcome to take pregame selfies in the Judge’s Chambers in right field, enjoy Monument Park from the time gates open until 45 minutes prior to game time and take in the club’s history at the New York Yankees Museum presented by Bank of America from the time gates open until the end of the eighth inning.
