CHICAGO -- Prior to Friday night's 9-3 win over the Royals, the White Sox reinstated outfielder Leury García from the 10-day disabled list.
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a single after replacing Avisaíl García, who was lifted by manager Rick Renteria for not hustling, in right field in the third inning of the series opener at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Leury Garcia, 27, was placed on the DL on Aug. 6 with a strained left hamstring he sustained on Aug. 5 against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
He is batting .280 (67-239) with seven doubles, four triples, four home runs, 31 RBIs, 23 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 74 games this season.
