Hall of Famer Wade Boggs diagnosed with prostate cancer
Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Boggs made the announcement via social media on Saturday in a post that struck a positive tone and drew encouragement and support from those all throughout the baseball community.
Boggs, who turned 66 in June, spent 18 seasons in the Majors with the Red Sox, Yankees and Rays, retiring following the 1999 season a 12-time All-Star with five American League batting titles to his name.
