The U.S. Olympic baseball roster was announced Friday. Here's who's going to Tokyo.
Team USA features plenty of familiar names, including longtime Major Leaguers like Todd Frazier, Scott Kazmir, Edwin Jackson and David Robertson and top prospects like Triston Casas, Shane Baz and Simeon Woods Richardson.
The U.S. starts Olympic play against Israel on July 30, with first pitch scheduled for 6 a.m. ET (7 p.m. in Japan). Team USA is looking for its third Olympic gold medal in baseball after winning in 1988 and 2000.
The 24-man roster has 14 MLB veterans, two World Series champions (Jackson and Robertson) and four former All-Stars (Kazmir, Frazier, Jackson and Robertson). Team USA is being managed by Mike Scioscia, who managed the Angels for 19 years and led them to a World Series championship in 2002.
The team also includes three of MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects. Casas is ranked the No. 30 prospect in baseball; the 21-year-old lefty slugging first baseman is also ranked the Red Sox's No. 1 prospect. Woods Richardson is the No. 68 prospect in baseball, and the 20-year-old right-hander is the Blue Jays' No. 4 prospect. The 22-year-old flame-throwing right-hander Baz is ranked the No. 71 prospect in baseball and the Rays' No. 5 prospect.

Nineteen of Team USA's players have played for the U.S. before, and 10 have won a gold medal in international competition -- including Casas, who has won three, and Robertson, the only player who was on the team that won the World Baseball Classic in 2017. The longtime Yankees reliever closed out Team USA's win over Puerto Rico in the championship game.

Before the Olympics, Team USA will report to the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., on July 16 and play a three-game exhibition series against the Collegiate National Team from July 18-20.
