The Blue Jays signed the 20th overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft, right-hander Trey Yesavage, the club announced Thursday.
Yesavage's signing bonus -- worth $4,177,500, a source told MLB Pipeline's Jim Callis -- is just over the assigned slot value for this year's 20th overall pick ($4,073,400).
Yesavage, 21, spent the past three seasons playing at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound native of Pottstown, Pa., finished the 2024 season 11-1 with a 2.03 ERA in 93 1/3 innings, recording an 8.9% walk rate, a 40.4% strikeout rate and a 0.87 WHIP, winning the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year award.
The right-hander went 19-2 while posting a 2.58 ERA across 195 1/3 innings with 295 strikeouts and a 1.03 WHIP in 65 appearances (29 starts) at the NCAA level.
