The Yankees non-tendered infielder Jon Berti and left-hander Tim Mayza ahead of Friday’s 8 p.m. ET deadline, the club announced, making them both free agents.
New York did agree to terms on new one-year contracts with right-hander JT Brubaker and outfielder Trent Grisham. Grisham will earn $5 million with up to $250,000 in incentives, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. Grisham earned $5.5 million this past season.
The Yankees have offered contracts to infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., left-hander Nestor Cortes, right-hander Scott Effross, right-hander Mark Leiter Jr., right-hander Clarke Schmidt and catcher Jose Trevino.
Teams and players have until Jan. 9 to agree, at which time salary arbitration figures would be exchanged.

Berti, 34, spent most of the regular season on the injured list due to a left groin strain and a left calf strain. Acquired from the Marlins on March 27, Berti batted .273/.342/.318 (18-for-66) with one homer and six RBIs in 25 games.
He was 2-for-11 (.182) with a walk in the postseason, appearing in four games during the first two rounds.
Mayza, 32, was signed on July 12 after being released by the Blue Jays. He posted a 4.00 ERA across 15 appearances during the regular season, spanning 18 innings. He did not permit a run across three postseason outings (including one in the World Series).
Acquired from the Pirates on March 29, the 31-year-old Brubaker did not pitch in the Majors this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Part of a seven-player deal with the Padres for Juan Soto, Grisham (who turned 28 earlier this month) batted .190 (34-for-179) with nine homers and 31 RBIs in 76 regular-season games. He was active for all three rounds of the postseason but did not appear.
Although he’s been a below-league-average hitter (94 OPS+) during his six-year Major League career, Grisham is an excellent defensive outfielder who owns two Gold Glove Awards for his work in center field (2020 and '22 with San Diego).
