PITTSBURGH -- Although Trea Turner does not expect to be heavily involved in any marketing campaigns involved in getting himself named to the National League All-Star team, he was excited to appear on the ballot for the 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote.
• VOTE Turner: 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote
"It's pretty cool to be in that group of guys to just get a chance," said Turner, who ranked fourth in Wednesday's final update, with voting set to close at 4 p.m. ET. "I think all anybody can ask for is to just have a chance."
Turner has the chance to make his first career All-Star appearance because he has hit .272/.350/.410 with 11 home runs and 22 stolen bases, tied for the second most in MLB. He has posted 3.1 Wins Above Replacement this season, which entering Monday was the ninth most in the National League, a fact not lost on his teammate and fellow All-Star Sean Doolittle.

Bryce Harper also got involved in the campaign to get Turner elected, using his Twitter account to offer a pair of tickets to the 2018 T-Mobile Home Run Derby if Turner wins the Final Vote. Turner is up against Jesús Aguilar of the Brewers, Brandon Belt of the Giants, Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals and Max Muncy of the Dodgers.
"It's something that is an honor -- everybody wants to be an All-Star," Turner said. "I feel like it's a huge accomplishment year in and year out. It's not easy to do every year. So, to be close and to be in consideration of the top 3-4-5 guys and be considered for it, I think it's great. But a lot of things are out of my control, other than playing."
Fans can cast votes for the final player on each league's roster -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online as part of the 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote, as well as via the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps, until Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Then on Tuesday, July 17, while watching the 2018 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard live on FOX, fans can submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2018 All-Star Game MLB.com MVP Vote.
