The list, which is put together by MLB Pipeline, with input from industry sources, including scouts and front-office executives, is based on analysis of players' upsides, tools and potential Major League impact.

A familiar name tops the list as 19-year-old Rays shortstop Wander Franco was named the game’s No. 1 prospect for the second straight season. A pair of former No. 1 overall picks, Baltimore’s Adley Rutschman (2019) and Detroit’s Spencer Torkelson (2020), occupy the next two spots, and Mariners outfield prospects Jarred Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez round out the top five.
The list features players from 29 teams, 27 of which have at least two players on the list. The Rays lead the way with eight Top 100 Prospects and the Mariners rank second with six.
