ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals were already anticipating making a roster move Sunday to replace reliever Dominic Leone, who is set to hit the disabled list with a nerve issue in his right biceps.
The events of Saturday's 8-6 win over the Cubs may require a few more moves.
The loss of three key players to injury somewhat overshadowed what Cardinals manager Mike Matheny described as "a huge win," and had the Cardinals' clubhouse speaking again of resiliency afterwards. That's in large part because they completed it without Tommy Pham, Yadier Molina or Bud Norris.
Pham left with a recurrence of the right groin tightness that forced him to miss several games last month. Molina exited after he was hit in the groin with a foul ball. Norris faced three batters in the 10th before walking off with the training staff. Matheny described Norris' injury as right triceps tightness.

At least Molina's injury had the Cardinals prepping an additional roster move. Carson Kelly, the club's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, was scratched at Triple-A Memphis prior to Saturday's game in Nashville.
"That was a bad one," Matheny said about Molina's injury, which came when Kris Bryant tipped a 101.5 mph fastball between the catcher's legs. "Those don't necessarily feel better tomorrow."
Molina remained on the field for several minutes, huddled with training staff, before exiting.

"He just couldn't go anywhere," Matheny said. "There was nowhere to go. He was trying to get the ability to breathe back. No further explanation for that one."
Matheny said Pham would consultant a specialist after feeling tightness in his groin weeks after a similar, initial pain had dissipated. He had started 10 straight games since returning from a minor case of groin pain originally sustained on a frigid night at Wrigley Field. Pham first complained of groin tightness late in St. Louis' 5-3 win over the Cubs on April 17, after which he missed three of the next four games.
"You could tell something was going on with his jumps today, maybe he wasn't seeing the ball," Matheny said. "He didn't let us on until it was too late."
The club's de facto closer, Norris battled a slight case of shoulder soreness late last month. He was making his fourth appearance in four games.
"It's overall tightness of the triceps," Norris said. "I'll need a few days to recover and do treatments."
He said he does not expect to need to be placed on the disabled list. Norris has appeared in 17 of 31 games this season.
