Dodgers fans received great news Tuesday as the team announced that Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda is home and resting after an extensive hospitalization.
Lasorda, 93, was hospitalized at an intensive care unit in Orange County, Calif., before Thanksgiving and continued to stay in hospital care after he was taken off a ventilator and released from the ICU.
Lasorda guided the Dodgers to four National League pennants and two World Series championships across his 21 seasons as the club’s manager from 1976-96. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in ’97 after winning 1,599 Major League games, the 22nd-highest total of any big league skipper.
