Hall of Fame manager Lasorda hospitalized
Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda is resting comfortably after he was hospitalized at an intensive care unit in Orange County, Calif., the Dodgers announced on Sunday.
Lasorda, 93, was last seen publicly at the Dodgers’ title-clinching victory in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Oct. 27. The Dodgers did not disclose why Lasorda was hospitalized, and they requested privacy for Lasorda and his family while he recuperates.
Lasorda guided the Dodgers to four National League pennants and two World Series championships across his 21 seasons as the club’s manager from 1976-96. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in ’97 after winning 1,599 Major League games, the 22nd-highest total of any big league skipper.
