McCann day to day after hit by pitch
JUPITER, Fla. -- Tigers catcher James McCann is day to day after being hit on the left hand by Marlins starter Tom Koehler, who was getting in some final work as a reliever.
McCann was taken out of the game in the fourth inning for precautionary measures but had full function in the hand, flexing it several times in the dugout. Tim Remes ran for McCann and remained in the game at catcher. The Tigers lost their Grapefruit League finale, 3-2.
The official statement from the Tigers is a left hand contusion, and X-rays came back negative.
