Sometimes, even The Freeze needs a stroke of luck to maintain his dominance.
The Braves’ famous between-innings entertainer has had plenty of memorable moments, leaving overzealous participants in the Truist Park dust plenty of times. But on Monday, The Freeze caught a break at the expense of one fan’s dignity.
Nearing the finish line with a huge lead, the lucky fan looked like he was going to easily beat the fastest man in a morph suit. Just feet from the finish line, though, the fan lost his balance and got a face full of Atlanta’s warning track dirt in front of 39,176 screaming fans.
The crowd reverberated his pain, moaning and groaning as The Freeze crossed the finish line.
