CINCINNATI -- The streak is finally over for Steven Kwan.
Showing he’s human at the plate, or at least can actually swing and not hit the baseball, the Guardians rookie outfielder swung and foul tipped an 82-mph Nick Lodolo curveball into the glove of Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson in the first inning on Wednesday at Great American Ball Park.
The second pitch of Kwan's first at-bat was the first time in six games this season that he swung and didn't either put the ball in play or foul off the pitch (a foul tip is considered a whiff).

It was the first time in 40 swings this season that Kwan swung and missed. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, the 116 pitches seen by Kwan are the most without a swing and miss for any batter to start his career among players to debut since 2000.
Four pitches later, he struck out looking at a 94 mph sinker, the first time he struck out in the Majors.
It was his first strikeout of any kind dating to Sept. 26 with Triple-A Columbus.
