Spencer Torkelson extended his on-base streak to 12 games with a pair of singles and crushed his fourth Double-A home run as part of a 3-for-4 evening at the plate. June 29: Tough night at the plate and in the field

June 27: Extends on-base streak to double digits

June 26: Scores twice in return to the lineup
Spencer Torkelson sat out the past two games but went 1-for-3 with two runs and a walk in his return to the lineup. He was also hit by a pitch. MLB Pipeline's No. 3 overall prospect is hitting .270 (10-for-37) with three home runs and nine RBIs through his first 10 Double-A games. June 23: Slams two-run homer in doubleheader
Spencer Torkelson might have gone 1-for-7 in Double-A Erie's doubleheader with Akron, but he made his one hit count, hitting a two-run homer in the first inning of the second game. It was the third home run at the Double-A level for Torkelson and his eighth across all levels this season. He has also driven in nine runs in as many games with the SeaWolves. June 22: Tallies single in shutout loss
Double-A Erie couldn't get it going with the bats Tuesday night, but Spencer Torkelson still managed to get into the hit column. Tork went 1-for-4 on the night with his lone hit being a single. It was a tame game for the No. 3 overall prospect, but his average in his first taste of Double-A ball sits at .296 and his OPS is a very solid .926. Gameday »

June 20: Hits an opposite-field homer
Spencer Torkelson is doing serious damage in his first taste of Double-A ball. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft went 2-for-4 with his second home run for the Erie SeaWolves on Sunday. Torkelson has recorded seven RBIs and four extra-base hits -- two doubles and two homers -- in his first six games with Erie. He has driven in at least one run in three consecutive games. June 19: Tallies two RBIs in loss
Torkelson drove in his fifth and sixth Double-A RBIs in his young stint with Erie on a sac fly and a double Saturday night. Tork went 1-for-4 at the dish with a run scored, but the SeaWolves lost to Altoona 8-7. His final plate appearance in the ninth was a great one, as Torkelson fouled off five pitches before hitting an RBI double on the 10th pitch of the at-bat. The real story of the game though was the man Torkelson drove in on his first-inning sac fly, Tigers No. 2 prospect Riley Greene, as he went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and came a single shy of the cycle. June 18: Hits go-ahead homer for first Double-A dinger
Double-A Northeast pitchers are going to get very sick of seeing Spencer Torkelson very soon. Tork hit his first homer since being called up to Double-A Friday night and it was a big one, a game-tying two-run homer in the eighth to seal Erie's win over Altoona. The No. 3 overall prospect had a great night at the plate, adding his first Double-A double in a 2-for-4 performance. The homer was Torkelson's sixth home run of the year across all levels. June 17: Walks and scores in hitless night
Spencer Torkelson is still adjusting to Double-A pitching, going 0-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Erie's loss to Altoona. June 16: Records first Double-A RBIs
We all knew Spencer Torkelson wasn't going to take long to get going, even with the move up to Double-A Erie. Torkelson tallied his first hits and drove in the first two runs of his Double-A stint, going 2-for-4 with two singles in the SeaWolves' loss. His first RBI came on a hit up the middle in the first, while his second came on a fielder's choice in the sixth. Tork provided all the offense for Erie, as they lost to Altoona 4-2. Gameday »

June 15: Hitless in Double-A debut
Torkelson went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his debut with Double-A Erie against Altoona. Erie did win the game, however, 4-3. The third baseman was slotted into the No. 3 spot in the batting order in his first game with the club, and if the way he was swinging the bat at Class A Advanced West Michigan is any indication, he'll start producing out of that No. 3 spot pretty soon as he continues his journey to the Majors. June 13: Promoted to Double-A Erie
That did not take long. About an hour after going 1-for-3 for High-A West Michigan, the Tigers announced Spencer Torkelson has been promoted to Double-A Erie. With an off-day Monday, his first opportunity to don the SeaWolves uniform will come Tuesday against Altoona. Torkelson torched High-A Central pitching in June, hitting .439 with 12 extra-base hits, 11 RBIs and got on base in more than half his plate appearances. Tigers No.4 prospect Dillon Dingler will join Tork in Erie as well.

June 13: Doubles for sixth XBH in four days
Another day, another extra-base hit for Spencer Torkelson. The Tigers' No. 1 prospect went 1-for-3 for High-A West Michigan, slapping yet another double. He has three doubles across the past two games and six extra-base hits in his past four. Tork also drove in a run on a sac fly, his eighth RBI in three days. His only mishap of the day was getting caught stealing third in the sixth inning. Torkelson is now hitting .312 after starting the month of June at .235. He boasts a 1.009 OPS, which leads the High-A Central and is fifth in all of High-A ball. With an off-day Monday, it's no guarantee that Torkelson will be around for the Whitecaps come Tuesday. June 12: Smacks two doubles in another multihit night
Spencer Torkelson came a double shy of the cycle Friday night, so he went out and slapped two of them Saturday. Baseball's No. 3 prospect went 2-for-5 on the night, driving in three runs and scoring another. Tork now has five extra-base hits across the past three games and seven RBIs in the past two. June 11: Double shy of cycle in another three-hit game
Spencer Torkelson's slow start seems like it was ages ago as he came a double shy of the cycle in yet another offensive explosion Friday night for High-A West Michigan. The 2020 No. 1 overall pick went 3-for-3 on the night with four RBIs and two runs scored on a three-run homer, a triple and a sac fly. Torkelson has lifted his batting average up over .300 for the first time this season as it sits at .307. He has reached base in 12 straight and recorded a multihit game in five of his past six games. June 10: Reaches base five times in win
Spencer Torkelson must've been seeing beach balls at the plate Thursday night as he went 3-for-3 on the night with a double off the wall, two walks and two runs scored. Tork was a key cog in High-A West Michigan's 10-0 victory over Lansing, a game in which every Whitecaps starter recorded a hit. After a slow start, baseball's No. 3 prospect is getting more comfortable at the plate as he raised his batting average to .286 on the year with his performance and has now reached base in all 11 games since missing a few days with a hamstring injury. June 9: Beefs up OBP with two more walks
Spencer Torkelson walked twice on Wednesday for High-A West Michigan. Even though he's had some hitting slumps in his first Minor League season, Torkelson has consistently displayed a refined batting eye. Spencer Torkelson is locked in right now. The Tigers' top prospect went 2-for-4 on Tuesday night and has recorded multiple hits in three consecutive games for High-A West Michigan. June 6: Collects two doubles
After getting two hits on Saturday, Spencer Torkelson registered two more hits on Sunday for High-A West Michigan. Both hits were doubles, one of which brought home the Whitecaps' first run of the game. The Tigers' No. 1 prospect has six doubles this year, four of which have come over seven games this month. June 5: Slaps two singles in blowout loss
While High-A West Michigan didn't fare too well against Great Lakes Saturday, Spencer Torkelson still managed to get his. Tork hit two singles in a 2-for-3 night as the Whitecaps lost 11-0 to the Loons. Torkelson had half of West Michigan's hits and reached base a third time via hit-by-pitch. Spencer Torkelson walked to extend his on-base streak since returning from injury to five games. The Tigers' top prospect couldn't muster much more though, as Tork went 0-for-2 on the night. He did, however, raise his OBP to a solid .396 on the year despite hitting just .236. Gameday »

June 3: Tork's fourth homer goes 442 feet
Torkelson continues to heat up, hitting his third home run since returning from a hamstring injury and reaching base safely three times.
