Heel! Shohei's Players' Weekend cleats feature his dog, Decoy
ST. LOUIS -- Players’ Weekend serves as a great time for the athletes across Major League Baseball to express themselves with creative and colorful gear, including bats, gloves and cleats.
Each player on the Dodgers added their own flavor on Friday. Freddie Freeman had three bats, each bearing the name of one of his sons. Jason Heyward’s bats also showed some love to his kids.
For Shohei Ohtani, it was another opportunity to show off his dog, Decoy, with custom cleats that he’ll be wearing all weekend long.

The New Balance cleats have Decoy’s face painted on each side with a Dodger Blue shade behind him. Ohtani, who introduced Decoy to the world last November, has consistently shown off his dog this season. The two-time unanimous American League Most Valuable Player wore a custom-made suit to this year’s All-Star Game that had Decoy plastered all over the inside of the jacket.
