Carle exits with finger numbness after 2 pitches

NEW YORK -- Braves right-hander Shane Carle had to leave Tuesday night's 3-2 win over the Mets in the seventh inning because of numbness in his right index finger and thumb. Carle is expected to have X-rays on Wednesday to find out the cause of the problem.
"We are still checking him out. He feels fine right now," Braves manager Brian Snitker said. "It's no more than a day or so. Nothing is pointing to a ligament. I guess you can't rule anything out until the doctors look at him. After the game, he felt fine."
With the Braves up, 3-1, Carle replaced starter Michael Soroka in the top of the seventh inning and threw two pitches to Adrián González before leaving the game. Carle was replaced by right-hander Dan Winkler, who ended up walking Gonzalez.
