ATLANTA -- The conclusion of Giants right-hander Sergio Romo's injury rehabilitation pitching schedule was delayed slightly, though the reliever is expected to rejoin the team by the end of the week.
Originally slated to pitch Sunday and Monday with Triple-A Sacramento, Romo was expected to tune up his arm Monday with Sacramento and Tuesday with Class A Advanced San Jose. Romo, San Francisco's top setup reliever before he strained the flexor tendon in his throwing elbow, likely will rest a day before reporting to the Giants.
Romo made four appearances, recording a 2.70 ERA (one earned run in 3 1/3 innings), before he was assigned to the 15-day disabled list April 15. That move was retroactive to April 11.
