Reds acquire OF Heineman from Rangers
CINCINNATI -- The Reds acquired outfielder Scott Heineman from the Rangers in a trade on Wednesday for Minor League outfielder José Acosta.
Heineman, who was designated for assignment on Dec. 11, played 24 games for Texas in 2020 and batted .154 with one home run and seven RBIs. Over four Minor League seasons, he was a .303/.378/.475 hitter with 48 homers and 222 RBIs.

A right-handed hitter, the 28-year-old Heineman can play all three outfield spots and first base.
Acosta, 20, played for the Rookie-level Arizona League Reds in 2019 and did not play in 2020.
