July 31: Giants 8, Astros 6 -- Slugfest at Oracle
The Giants -- ending their long ball drought -- and Astros combined for eight home runs on Saturday, tying the single-game record at Oracle Park that was first set on Sept. 24, 2019, during a matchup with the Rockies.

July 30: Astros 9, Giants 6 -- Giants in homer drought
The Giants have not homered in four consecutive games, their longest drought of the year.

July 29: Giants 5, Dodgers 0 -- García escapes jam
Lefty Jarlin García delivered in a huge spot for the Giants, striking out Cody Bellinger on three pitches to escape a bases-loaded jam with two outs in the top of the sixth inning at Oracle Park. Since May 22, left-handed hitters have gone 2-for-41 (.049) against García, who has logged a 1.40 ERA with 29 strikeouts over his last 24 appearances to lower his ERA to 2.68. Johnny Cueto joked that he owes García a bottle of wine and some Louis Vuitton shoes for stranding the inherited runners and helping him earn a winning decision over the Dodgers.

July 28: Dodgers 8, Giants 0 -- DeSclafani can't solve Dodgers
Anthony DeSclafani was charged with four runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings, marking the second time he’s been unable to complete three innings against the Dodgers this season. DeSclafani delivered another clunker against Los Angeles on May 23, when he allowed a career-high 10 runs over 2 2/3 innings at Oracle Park. Overall, he’s 0-3 with a 9.43 ERA in five starts against the Dodgers this year, compared to 10-2 with a 1.78 ERA in 16 starts against everyone else.

July 27: Giants 2, Dodgers 1 -- Cruising into century mark
With their win over the Dodgers, the Giants improved to 63-37 through their first 100 games of the season, tied with the 2003 club for the third-best mark in San Francisco history.

July 25: Giants 6, Pirates 1 -- Bounceback kings
The Giants have showed their resiliency time and again this season, going a Major League-best 25-12 following losses. Left-hander Alex Wood has emerged as the Giants' de facto stopper, as he is now 8-0 following defeats this year.

July 24: Pirates 10, Giants 2 -- Off night for Gausman
Kevin Gausman was charged with a season-high six runs over 4 1/3 innings against the Pirates, snapping his streak of 16 consecutive outings in which he'd allowed three or fewer runs. The stretch was tied for the second-longest such streak in franchise history. Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson holds the record after accomplishing the feat in 18 straight starts for the New York Giants in 1908.

July 23: Pirates 6, Giants 4 -- Cueto has wheels
Johnny Cueto reached on a walk in the third inning and proceeded to steal second base to give the Giants a runner in scoring position with one out. It was the first stolen base of Cueto's 14-year career in the Majors, in his first attempt. The 35-year-old veteran became the first Giants pitcher to steal a base since Kirk Rueter on Aug. 29, 2003, at Arizona.

July 22: Giants 5, Dodgers 3 -- Road warriors
After clinching a series victory over the Dodgers, the Giants ended their regular-season slate at Dodger Stadium at 6-4. The last time San Francisco finished with a winning record at Chavez Ravine in a single season was 2014, when they also went 6-4.

July 21: Giants 4, Dodgers 2 -- Comeback-to-comeback
July 21 marked the first time in the modern era that the Giants and Dodgers have produced ninth-inning comebacks against each other in back-to-back games, according to Stats, LLC.

July 20: Dodgers 8, Giants 6 -- Loving the long ball
After hitting four homers against the Dodgers on Tuesday, the Giants now lead the Majors with 142 home runs this year. Thus far, 18.6% of the Giants' hits this season have been home runs. According to Stats LLC, no Giants club has ever finished a season with a higher percentage of their hits going for homers than 15.7%, which was done by the 2001 Giants.

July 19: Giants 7, Dodgers 2 -- Trading blows
The Giants and Dodgers traded back-to-back shots in the first inning, with Buster Posey and Wilmer Flores connecting against Tony Gonsolin, and Max Muncy and Justin Turner going deep off Kevin Gausman. It was the first time the archrivals have both accomplished the feat in the first inning, according to Sport Radar.

July 18: Cardinals 2, Giants 1 -- Cueto reaches 2,000 innings
Johnny Cueto, who has pitched for three teams in his 14-year career, recorded his 2,000th inning. Cueto reached the milestone in the third inning with Harrison Bader flying out to center field. Cueto is the seventh pitcher born in the Dominican Republic to accomplish the feat. The right-hander pitched five innings, allowing one run on two hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

July 17: Cardinals 3, Giants 1 -- Giants' streak snapped
The Giants winning streak was halted at five games. San Francisco has six win streaks of four games or more this season, tied for second-most in MLB with the Dodgers and White Sox.

July 16: Giants 7, Cardinals 2 -- Jackson's clutch debut
In his first appearance since September 2019, when he was a member of Milwaukee's bullpen, Jay Jackson stepped foot on a Major League mound. Jackson was called up from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of the series opener against the Cardinals after he pitched through 11 scoreless innings with the River Cats. He made his Giants debut in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and two outs and impressively struck out Harrison Bader in a seven-pitch at-bat. Jackson earned the win after he tossed 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and one walk against five batters.

July 11: Giants 3, Nationals 1 -- Best in baseball
The Giants finished off a three-game sweep of the Nationals in their first-half finale on Sunday afternoon at Oracle Park. At 57-32, they'll head into the All-Star break with the best record in baseball for the seventh time in franchise history and the first time since 2016.

July 10: Giants 10, Nationals 4 -- DeSclafani's milestone win
Anthony DeSclafani earned his career-high 10th victory of the year after delivering six shutout innings. His previous high had been nine, which he achieved in 2015, '16 and '19. DeSclafani is also the first Giants starter to reach double-digit wins before the All-Star break since Johnny Cueto (13) and Madison Bumgarner (10) accomplished the feat in '16.

July 9: Giants 5, Nationals 3 -- Leaning on the long ball
After going deep three times, the Giants lead the Majors with 130 home runs this season. They are in contention to lead MLB in home runs at the All-Star break for only the third time since moving to San Francisco in 1958. They previously accomplished the feat in 1989 (80 homers) and 1958 (95 homers), according to Stats, LLC.

July 7: Giants 5, Cardinals 2 -- Craw does it all
All-Star shortstop Brandon Crawford singled and swiped second base in the seventh inning to collect his seventh steal of the year, matching the career high he set over 155 games in 2016.

July 6: Cardinals 6, Giants 5 -- Giant slayers
Nolan Arenado opened the scoring with a two-run shot off Johnny Cueto in the first inning, giving him 12 career homers at Oracle Park. That's second-most among visiting players, trailing only Cardinals teammate Paul Goldschmidt, who has 13.

July 5: Cardinals 5, Giants 3 -- A pinch of power
Alex Dickerson put the Giants on the board with a pinch-hit blast off Cardinals reliever Giovanny Gallegos in the eighth inning. It was the fifth career pinch-hit home run for Dickerson and his second of the season. San Francisco's bench has produced nine pinch-hit homers this year, the most in the Majors.

July 4: Giants 5, D-backs 2 -- Austin powers up
Austin Slater staked the Giants to a 3-0 lead with his second home run in as many days, a 467-foot shot off left-hander Caleb Smith in the third inning. It was Slater's longest home run since Statcast's inception in 2015, topping the 463-foot shot he blasted off lefty Ryan Buchter at Chase Field on Saturday. Slater is the only hitter in the Majors to produce three home runs that traveled over 460 feet this season.

July 3: Giants 6, D-backs 5 -- Slater hits career-long homer
Austin Slater crushed a go-ahead two-run homer off left-hander Ryan Buchter in the eighth inning that traveled a Statcast-projected 463 feet, the longest of his big league career. The mammoth blast topped the 461-foot shot Slater hit as a rookie at Milwaukee on June 8, 2017.

July 2: Giants 11, D-backs 4 -- 51 wins at 81-game mark
The Giants are 51-30 at the midpoint of their season, tying the third most wins they've had at the 81-game mark since the franchise relocated to San Francisco in 1958. They started 53-28 in ‘93 and 52-29 in ‘62, while the ‘71 team also began 51-30.

July 1: D-backs 5, Giants 3 -- Flores sets Statcast personal best
Wilmer Flores belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning that traveled a Statcast-projected 429 feet. It was Flores' longest home run since Statcast tracking began in 2015. His previous long homers during that span were a pair of 422-foot blasts, one of which when he played for the D-backs and took the Giants' Madison Bumgarner deep on Aug. 18, 2019. The other was on June 18, 2018, when Flores played for the Mets and homered off the Rockies' Tyler Anderson.
