PHOENIX -- The D-backs have agreed to terms with five of their selections from last week's MLB Draft, including second-round pick Auburn shortstop Ryan Bliss.
The other players who agreed to terms include catcher Caleb Roberts (fifth round), right-hander Luke Albright (sixth round), left-hander Jake Rice (ninth round) and right-hander Ross Carver (20th round).
Bliss may eventually have to slide over to second base, but either way, the D-backs were excited to get him in the second round.
"I just think he brings a unique blend of skills that this organization, just about every organization, wants and then there's his makeup and character which is off the charts," said D-backs scouting director Deric Ladnier. "He was a great teammate to everybody and has always showed up to play every day and perform at the highest level for me [Southeastern Conference] in the college ranks."
